The owner told me that it was a model number #500142, but this would appear to be the model of the motor only. Compared to a lot of old iron, RAS seem to be available relatively inexpensively. Model 925's seem to go for around $150-$250, depending on their condition. I've been hemming and hawing about whether or not I should go and look at this saw. Logically, since I already have a SCMS I don't NEED something else that takes up space in my already too-small shop. As well, I believe that they are inherently less safe than a SCMS. On the pro side, they don't make them like that anymore, and from the pics at least it looks to be in excellent condition. I guess I'll sleep on it a bit more. Again, thank you for your assistance. Re: Identifying model of older Dewalt RAS Pete Yes I did own an older Dewalt 5800 that I bought used about 12 years ago but I sold it a couple of weeks ago after I got the 925. I hardly ever use a RAS, but when I saw the 925 it was hard to pass up, like I said it was 38+ years old and looked like it just came out of the box. I don't own a SCMS, only an old Mikita chop saw, so the 925 will work for the little use I have for the SCMS. If you are interested I can send you a few pictures of the attachments I recieved on the weekend. I had never seen a jig saw attachment, From the picture you posted I sure would take a second look at the 925. They are built solid and sturdy. Re: Identifying model of older Dewalt RAS Wow, guys, some great pics of older Dewalt saws that are my age (or older). It's amazing that a tool made in the late 50's/early 60's is as functional today as the day that it was made. Rick, you say that these two RAS are your primary cutting saws - do you use them for ripping as well? For those who posted pics of their saws, how many made tables for them based on the Mr Sawdust plans? Frank, any plans to post more pics of your new saw with all the Gucci attachments?
